Volunteer role - Social Media Administrator

Overview
This volunteering role will support our marketing efforts in growing RAKs audience across social media (and other digital platforms).
The RAK digital content strategy (2023-2028) is designed to inspire and encourage empathy within our community of South West London, and we’re looking for creative individuals who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of those seeking sanctuary in Kingston and surrounding areas.
This role is focused on the administration and optimisation of content on our social media channels (Instagram / Facebook) and will work closely with other volunteers and the Digital Marketing Coordinator to execute RAKs strategy. This role is well-suited to someone looking to gain experience in social media, ongoing support / training opportunities will be provided by the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
Due to the nature of this volunteering position we can be flexible when agreeing availability / time commitment. To be discussed upon induction.
Main tasks
Schedule content in advance for Instagram / Facebook.
Write captions for IG/FB posts.
Select appropriate content from similar charitable organisations to re-share to Story.
Monitor performance of posts, working alongside the Digital Marketing Coord to analyse ways we can improve content.
Assist in the planning and execution of campaigns (such as the annual festive campaign).
Collaborate with other volunteers / staff in the distribution of content.
Check-in with the Digital Marketing Coordinator via email.
Attend occasional online meetings with the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
Skills, ability and qualities
Social media savvy. Previous experience running social channels is desirable but not essential.
Interested in data and analysis.
Organised and able to plan in advance.
Awareness of safeguarding risks on social media.
Reliable and able to commit to the agreed hours / timeframe.
Good communication and team skills.
Passionate about the rights of those seeking asylum or with refugee status.
Time commitment and location
4-8 hours a month (flexible), TBD upon induction.
Minimum commitment 6 months.
Remote or office-based / hybrid as desired.
Induction, training and support
You will complete initial RAK volunteer induction and ongoing training as needed.
Ongoing support from the Digital Marketing Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator.
Out of pocket expenses within agreed guidelines.
*Volunteers must have access to a computer / laptop.
